Aloha Friday

It’s Aloha Friday over at An Island Life!

Answer my question and make sure you post one on your blog!

After that, go relax because today is Friday!!

Question for you this week is:

What is your favorite birthday memory?
My answer:

For me, it’s hard to top last year. I was in DISNEY WORLD!!! That trip was all thanks to my Mother-in-law. The trip was awesome.

Blonde Interview

A Blonde airhead goes for a job interview in an office.

The interviewer starts with the basics.
“So, Miss, can you tell us your age, please?”

The blonde counts carefully on her fingers for half a minute before replying “Ehhhh… 22!”

The interviewer tries another straightforward one to break the ice.
“And can you tell us your height, please?”

The young lady stands up and produces a measuring tape from her handbag. She then traps one end under her foot and extends the tape to the top of her head. She checks the measurement and announces “Five foot two!”

This isn’t looking good so the interviewer goes for the real basics; something the interviewee won’t have to count, measure, or lookup.
“Just to confirm for our records, your name please?”

The airhead bobs her head from side to side for about ten seconds, mouthing something silently to herself, before replying “MANDY!”

The interviewer is completely baffled at this stage, so he asks –
“What in the world were you doing when I asked you your name?”

“Ohhhh, that!” replies the airhead…
” I was just running through that song –
‘Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear…’ ”

Today is my aunt Christina and cousin Marc’s birthday.

Happy Birthday to the two of them!!

  1. I have to say – one of my favorite birthday memories was just a few years ago… all the kids in my youth group took up money & bought me a gift certificate to a yarn store… that to me was the most thoughtful gift…. & that they cared enough to do that… makes me all weepy still!!!!

  2. One year when I was in high school my mom won tickets to a Trailblazer game (NBA Basketball) and she gave them to me and I got to take a friend. We thought that was pretty cool. Happy Friday!

  3. A month before my 7th birthday, my father started taking night classes. He told me he would have to miss my birthday dinner and how sorry he was. I was totally bummed. On the night of my bday my mother had me pick the place for our dinner. I picked my favorite italian restaurant. When we arrived, my father was standing there with 7 of my friends holding a huge banner that read “happy Birthday Roxane”…Best bday EVER!

  4. Hey, that’s how I remember my name too! I don’t have a favorite birthday memory 🙁

  5. That is hilarious!

  6. Lol!!

I best birthday was a surprise sweet sixteen thrown for me by my bff!

  7. Funny you should ask being that Sunday is my birthday & all – lol

Um… my favorite bday memory is probably one from my teens when I had a sleepover party in my parents camper. My guests and I snuck out in the middle of the night and ran down the road towards the drive-in movie theater (hoping we’d get to sneek a peek) but then we started freaking ourselves out ran home. My BFF and I still joke about it to this day (and she’s 8 days younger!)

This year I’ll be in Boston for my bday – not sure what we’ll do yet considering we have a 8-9 hour drive getting there.

    Have a great weekend!

  8. Hmmmm favorite birthday….when I was about 5 and my mom dressed as a clown and tried to convince me it wasnt her LOL

  9. This birthday was kind of cool. I was visiting with my dad’s family for 2 weeks and they didn’t know it was my birthday. Once they realized they threw together a really nice dinner and bought me an ice cream cake. It was just really sweet!

  10. I had a big birthday party when I was about 8 or so and it’s really the only one I had where I was able to invite friends so I’ll never forget it. It was a beautiful day and we played all kinds of outdoor games and things!

  11. I can’t really remember a favorite birthday. Pretty sad, huh? 🙂

    An Island Life

  12. I don’t even know what I would pick as my favorite birthday memory. My parents always tried to make it special. I still remember the year I got my pager – haha, those hardly even exist anymore.

Greg has pulled off some pretty cool surprises in the almost 5 years we have been together. One year Greg and my parents pulled off a surprise to bring my best friend into town (when we were living up north and everyone else was in So Cal) to celebrate. I picture proof of the shock and excitement on my face!

  13. Mine was this year. My kids & Hubby really stepped up (hubby has been known to buy a card @ the last min & call it good) & made me feel special all day long!
