Aloha Friday

It’s Aloha Friday over at An Island Life!

Answer my question and make sure you post one on your blog!

After that, go relax because today is Friday!!

My family is headed towards a wedding next Saturday, so I’ve had wedding on the brain, if you couldn’t tell.

Question for you this week is:

If you’re married, what was your favorite part of your wedding? If you’re not, what are you most looking forward to when your day comes?

My answer:
Aside from the whole ‘I Do!’ part, it’s a toss up between having our dad’s sing and having a deer as a part of our wedding.

Oh, you want a picture?

Sure, here ya go!

If you’d like to read more about our wedding, you can do that here.

Jack was soon going to be married to Jill, so his father sat him down for a little fireside chat.

Jack’s father said, “Jack, let me tell you something. On my wedding night in our honeymoon suite, I took off my pants and handed them to your mother, and said, ‘Here – try these on.'”

Jacks father continued, “So, she did and replied, ‘These are too big, I can’t wear these pants.’

So I replied to your mother, ‘Exactly. I wear the pants in this family and I always will.”‘

“Ever since that night we have never had any problems,” concluded Jack’s father.

“Hmmm,” Jack said in reply.

He thought his father’s suggestion might be a good thing to establish on that day of new beginnings.

So on his honeymoon Jack took off his pants and said to Jill, “Here, try these on.”

So she did and said, “These are too large, Jack. They don’t fit me…”

Jack replied, “Exactly. I wear the pants in this family and I always will. I don’t want you to ever forget that.”

Then Jill took off her pants and handed them to Jack, as she said, “Here, you try on mine!”

As she requested, he tried them. “I can’t get into your pants,” Jack said with a question in his tone.

Jill replied, “Exactly. And if you don’t change your attitude, you never will.”

  1. I also enjoy the declaring part most, but in our religion one says “I Accept”

Looking forward for your answers at:

  2. LOL! Love that joke!

  3. WOW.. It seems like a lifetime ago.. (OK only 13 But my favorite part? The kiss at the end and hearing I now Pronounce you…. It just felt like the deal was sealed.. lol

  4. I’m getting married next June, and I think it’ll be the reception.

  5. Loved when all of our family and friends danced the Hora around us.

  6. haha, don’t boys get it yet? We’re totally in charge! ๐Ÿ˜€

  7. The reception was the best part. We got married in Vegas and almost 60 of our friends and family came too – and the reception rocked if I do say so myself! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  8. I’m not a fan of all that stuff so being done with it was the best part. Vegas for now on.

  9. My favorite part and it was a surprise before they declared us husband and wife. My sisters, My nieces, and my cousins all came as a group from each family and handed me and my husband a rose. It was beautiful and of course I cried.

  10. my husband missed breaking the glass at the end of the ceremony. it took 3 tries.

  11. Husband and I got married in a beautiful botanical garden in Hawaii…..I loved everything about it! That was 26 years ago and now that I look back on it, I am so glad I got married there….it was my dream place to marry at Waimea Falls Park Botanical Gardens!

  12. Wow, that was a long time ago. Probably the party afterwards. We had a very laid back wedding.

  13. The best part was after the ceremony when we walked out of the chapel and had a few minutes to ourselves before the reception!
Hard to believe it was 10 yrs ago already lol

  14. That’s the best joke!! I loved the fact that our minister had us kiss 4 or 5 times during the ceremony. The whole thing was so filled w/ love & rejoicing.

  15. I love lighting the unity candle

  16. My favorite part of the wedding… walking into the church with my dad right as we’re walking down the aisle – seeing my husband at the end of the aisle… it was beautiful!

  17. I loved our vows where we added, to the standard, “I promise to love you more tomorrow than I do today.” And we do! ๐Ÿ™‚ My Aloha Friday

  18. Happy Friday. I love that Jack/Jill joke….it’s a good one every time I hear/read it. ๐Ÿ™‚ Favorite part of my wedding was the participation of our guests, dancing, and having a good celebration. It’s what I wished for…and they came through. That, and my son dancing out down the aisle after the vows.

  19. Great joke!
My favorite part of our wedding, was after the ceremony in Vegas, as we walked back to our hotel, strangers were yelling congrats to us and old ladies would comment about how pretty we all looked! ๐Ÿ™‚ There were good vibes coming our way from everybody.

  20. I am not sure – the whole day was such a blur. It was so hot, and I was so dehydrated by the end of the afternoon. I always lose perspective if I am dehydrated! I think my favourite part was sundown, the day cooled off and the sky was red. We went out to take more pics in the sunset, it was very pretty, and we were relaxed at that point.

  21. My very favorite part was when my dad sang and played on the guitar a song that he used to sing me when I was little. It was very sweet. My Aloha Friday

  22. My niece played her flute and it was just beautiful. I loved our outdoor wedding.

  23. 10 yrs ago this month!! wow. The surprise dance with my grandfather that made him cry.

  24. My 8 year anniversary is in August. Time goes so fast!

My favorite part is the music we picked out to play at the reception from the time guests arrived until after dinner. DH and I went through all of the Depeche Mode CDs and picked the tamer songs. It was really relaxing and a lot of fun. No one complained either.

  25. The bag pipe band and the accompanying dancers. It was a blast!

  26. Haha!

My fav part of our wedding was when Josh and I walked out of the church and had our first alone real kiss as a married couple! And the brilliant photographer got that moment!!!

  27. I went back and read your wedding post, you were beautiful! What a great time to have a wedding!

    And the deer! LOL Awesome!

My favorite part of my wedding was the second I got to the altar and saw Mark, and all my nerves went away! I thought I was going to throw up from being so nervous!

  28. What am I most looking forward to? I probably shouldn’t say it all being over and done with right? haha i think that is the stress talking.

really though i am most looking forward to the moment when he first sees me (which will be before the ceremony even begins) and also the moment right after we kiss and they pronounce us husband and wife and we walk back down the aisle together.
