Aloha Friday

It’s Aloha Friday over at An Island Life!

Answer my question and make sure you post one on your blog!

After that, go relax because today is Friday!!

Question for you this week is:

Name a time when you got in to big trouble with your parents.

My answer:

When I was 15, getting close to getting my driver’s license, I TOLD my dad I was going to get my license when I turned 16. He didn’t say much in the car because there were other people there, but I received a letter in the mail a few days later {I didn’t live with him} telling me that HE would make the decision as to when I would get my license when HE thought I was ready. I was to NEVER EVER TELL him something again, with the tone that I did, because it would get me nowhere fast. I still have the letter somewhere.

(Wednesday) NOTICE – R. D. Jones has informed us that he has received several annoying telephone calls because of the error we made in his classified ad yesterday. His ad stands corrected as follows: FOR SALE – R. D. Jones has one sewing machine for sale. Cheap. Phone 555-0707 and ask Mrs. Kelly who loves with him.

(Thursday) NOTICE – I, R. D. Jones, have NO sewing machine for sale. I SMASHED IT. Don’t call 555-0707, as the telephone has been disconnected. I have NOT been carrying on with Mrs. Kelly. Until yesterday she was my housekeeper, but she quit.”

  1. Sadly I can’t think of anything. I was a pretty good kid. Trouble, yes. BIG trouble….no.

  2. One of the biggest times I got in trouble with my parents (which for me and my brother (2 yrs older)) was the year we snooped at Christmas. We had been snooping around for days (weeks?) without any of the other 6 people in our family noticing. Eventually we got caught because stupid me left my bedroom slippers in my parents “locked” bedroom (that and neither of us knew how to rewrap the gifts we’d opened). Needless to say that was the year we found out about Santa Clause :-/ and not only did I get the belt for the first time EVER, we both got all our gifts in brown paper bags – no wrapping paper for us! We were left with the guilt of our actions for YEARS to come and it became a favorite story (in my parent’s mind) to tell at our weddings (whatever!).

There are others but I’ll just leave it at that 😉 I guess that’s what happens as the youngest 2 of 6 kids!

  3. Oh snap! The biggest time for me – I threw a party when my parents were out of town! The biggest reason – I dont drink – never have – even as a teen at parties, but people brought beer! And yeah… someone poured it into my mom & dad’s NEW TV!!! It BLEW UP!!!! Yeah – no hiding that party! I still get sick thinking about it!

  4. I’m sure I got in trouble all the time, but I can’t recall a HUGE troubling spot for me. I was a nerd back in the day…and I was the older kid, so I was always having to be responsible and baby-sit and stuff. I didn’t have time to get in trouble.

  5. LOL! Nothing like a septic tank pump for V Day! Oh I wish my hubster were that romantic!

  6. I lied about going to standardized testing one morning in high school and this dumb girl told on me. That was one of the biggest times I got in trouble because I tried to lie about it after being told on. But I still can’t stand that girl lol

  7. I love coming to Aloha Friday cause you always make me laugh.

When I was 15 I “borrowed” my parent’s boeing 747 station wagon. While trying to get in the driveway it stalled & when they finally got home it was still there. Yeah, good times. Luckily he laughed & then told me I’d always get caught so I just shouldn’t do things like that.

  8. I got in real trouble, but nothing major. I was a boring goody goody.

  9. i LOVE your funny jokes and such! they are great!!!

  10. LOL OMG has to be the time we were playing truth or dare in the basement and I got bust on the dare~~~~~SMOKING A cigarette.

  11. I don’t really remember anything! Except for cutting curfew a couple of time and got caught.

  12. lol Has to be when we made a mud candy apple for our cousin. We used red paint to cover it and gave it to him. He took a real big bite out of it. lol
