Aloha Friday

It’s Aloha Friday over at An Island Life!

Answer my question and make sure you post one on your blog!

After that, go relax because today is Friday!!

Question for you this week is:
What quality do you appreciate most in a friend?

My answer:

I love honesty. Sometimes they may tell you something you don’t want to hear, but I prefer to hear the truth rather than what they think I might want to hear.

Don’t tell me your age; you probably would tell a falsehood anyway -but the Hershey Man will know!

YOUR AGE BY CHOCOLATE MATH

This is pretty neat. And it was right for me. Crazy!!

DON’T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!

It takes less than a minute.
Work this out as you read.
Be sure you don’t read the bottom until you’ve worked it out!
This is not one of those waste of time things, it’s fun.

1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have chocolate (more than once but fewer than 10)

2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)

3. Add 5

4. Multiply it by 50 — I’ll wait while you get the calculator

5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1759 ..
If you haven’t, add 1758.

6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.

You should have a three digit number

The first digit of this was your original number
(i.e., how many times you want to have chocolate each week).

The next two numbers are

YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!)

THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2009) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS.

  1. So first I have to say that I love how you make me feel better that I’m still awake right now [or at this time everyday] haha.

That chocolate math is pretty interesting. Those things always get me because I try to figure out how they got the answer yet have no idea what I’m doing!

    Happy Friday!

  2. Probably honesty as well.. That makes or breaks it for me. And loyalty. Oh and definitely, a friend that has a backbone..is something to admire. 🙂

  3. I also like honesty in a friend.

  4. Honesty for sure! If something is hanging off my nose, I would SO want to know! lol

  5. I too like honesty in a friend!

  6. Great question! I would say loyalty and humility. I can’t stand proud, arrogant people – they irk my spirit.

That chocolate math blew my mind. I stink at math so bad! Who comes up with that stuff?

Have a wonderful Friday and weekend!

  7. honesty and trust is so important

  8. Honest and be their when you need them.

Chocolate math was cool. Happy friday.

  9. I love honesty in a friendship. I’m so tired of seeing the phoniness between many friends. The truth may hurt sometimes, but a true friend will tell it to you like it is.

    My Aloha Friday

  10. I’m going to have to go with honesty too…happy friday!

  11. Honesty. =)

    Happy Aloha Friday!

  12. I’m going to say honesty too. I might be alot of things but I am NOT a liar, and I can’t stand people who do lie. I just don’t see a point in lying, someone ALWAYS gets hurt!

  13. Who figures out this math stuff?!

I would have to agree with you and say honesty is the quality I appreciate most in a friendship!

  14. Most definitely honesty!

  15. Honesty is great but I always look for someone who can make me laugh. I need it in my life. If I can get it daily all the better.

  16. I look for honesty, good listener and a sense of humor.

  17. Honesty & understanding as well as being there for me.

  18. Yes, the math worked for me. Weird. Thanks for reminding me of my age. That’s REALLY sweet of you. Blah.
What I like most in a friend is sincerity. I prefer to keep friends close who are sincerely interested in our friendship as opposed to loosely keeping acquaintences. I don’t find one lifestyle better than another, it’s just that I don’t have time to keep up with many acquaintences, so I keep the numbers small. 🙂

  19. you are a bundle of fun and I love a friend who is fun, trust worthy and can listen or talk whatever I feel like

  20. That chocolate math is spooky! How does that work?!? Stopped by for Aloha Friday!

  21. oh I forgot to answer the question! What I look for in a friend is someone who has the same sense of humor as me. I can be snarky and sarcastic and my friends have to be the same way or they will never get me! lol

  22. I love that kitty!

  23. omg! the chocolate math is amazing!
honesty would be my answer as well.

  24. always being there for me

  25. I love honesty too! I also think a friend who is there for you no matter what and is always understanding is really important.

    Fun chocolate math!

  26. Loyalty.

A friend that is a friend to face, and not behind your back is not a friend. And in the same vein – a confidence should be kept a confidence.

  27. Honesty, for sure!

The chocolate math is freakin’ spookyville! I LOVE IT!

  28. Honesty is a great answer. I also like friends who are real and not always negative. I’m all about being there for friends through hard times but there are those people who don’t have one good think to say about anything or anyone. I don’t need to be around them.

  29. Sooo cool!
    love me some chocolate!

  30. Hello from SITS!! I saw we are both from WA…woohoo!! With regards to friends…honesty and trust. I so agree with you. Well just wanted to stop by and say Have a great weekend!

  31. Someone who is upbeat & cheerful but always in a honest way. But not a pushover.

    Cool chocolate math.

  32. That is SO WEIRD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  33. Answer: I love that a true friend will love me, not in spite of my quirks, but because of them.

also – you know you have a true friend when you dont have to spend every minute together, and yet when you do you can pick up right where you left off… no drama. no, “have i done somethiing to offend you? i haven’t heard from you…” etc.

  34. I’ve been seeing that math problem for YEARS, and every year we’re told it’s the only year it will work. Guess what? It’s never not worked for me, lol.

As for what quality I appreciate most in a friend…honesty is a good one. Mine would probably be friendliness. By that I mean…someone who wants to be your friend and do things with you. Not someone who says they are your friend, but then never calls, never has time for you, never sends you emails, basically ignores you. You don’t want to be the only one trying to keep the friendship going.

  35. Honesty is right up there for sure! I also love a sense of humour and accepting you for who you are.

  36. mmmm – yummy chocolate!
